stefan, the key is in the term "of necessity." in a growing economy it would not be unusual for the stocks to grow over time. my only issue now is the total disconnect between economic growth and stock growth.

if the stocks do a big fat round trip then you could have a zero sum game. however, it would be very unlikely. much more likely would be a positive or negative game.
