All that is required here is for Microsoft to release an upgrade to the Visual C++ compiler like they always do for a new chip. Microsoft's compiler has never done anything special for ANY non-Intel CPU. But don't worry. If the K7 is super-sensitive to code generation, it's dead anyway. Even Intel couldn't get away with that.
