Michael, those are interesting statistics on flow of funds. However, such data could only be useful to confirm short term trends, not longer term directions, which would be tied more to fundamentals. Inasmuch as I don't do technical analysis but restrict my decisionmaking to long run implications, the current events that seem to me to be paramount in influencing QCOM prices are: (1) increased patent royalties resulting from the affirmation of the key patent, and from the Q-E agreement, and (2) strong indications that China will not prevent CDMA from competing with other recently approved systems, such as GSM. If CDMA is allowed to go forward in China, as seems likely now, it means the opening of market demand for at least 30 million CDMA handsets in the next two years or so - about 20 times the entire world production so far.
