Reiterating Our Expectations From Dell's Analyst Meeting. Q1E:$0.15, FY00E:$0.70
After meeting with Dell management, we've reconfirmed comments made in our Monday morning call: We remain comfortable Dell will meet or beat our Q1 estimate and FY00 estimates.PC demand remains solid in the U.S. and North America for Dell and the industry.Japan does not appear quite as strong. We expect Dell to highlight storage during the meeting – perhaps giving more color to the IBM deal. We also believe it will review its opportunities for its internet initiatives, services, and the consumer.
· Dell believes Y2K will be a positive stimulus for FY00, even during the second half. They expect the government to provide a positive push in Q3, and consumer and small business to provide benefits in Q4.-------------------Maintain Dell STRONG BUY.
