Thanks, Paul. My experience in the past is that early rumors tend to be pretty close, so I assume that the K7 will be pretty close to a PIII. The AMD stock price at this price is saying the same thing.

I don't think the 256k L2 cache will help my application as I think it will fit in the 128k cache on a Celeron, which is why the Celeron should outperform a PIII for this job. The Willamette sounds like what I want, but I don't want to wait a year, so I'll probably go with a Celeron.
