Actually, a thought just occured to me. I suppose you could use a Self Organizing Map (SOM) or Temporal SOM to classify the current bullish or bearish candlestick pattern. I have never used these formats myself, but I imagine it could be done.

I wonder what it would look like if you were to train on all stocks in a sector instead of a particular issue.

You certainly got my thoughts going... ;-)
