Dan, sometimes alcoholism has been shown to skip a generation. Maybe the parents never drank but usually it shows up from a grandparent.

I agree no one is making them drink but their reasons for starting to drink are social drinking. No one makes a decision that they will become an alcoholic. Medical science has discovered that an alcoholic will react differently than the normal drinker in that his body chemistry will create a high similiar to morphine. The normal drinker never feels this way when drinking.
