The upgrade of ML reminds me of when dogs sniff each other's butts.

Analyst's Rules of Engagement:

1) If a stock is to be upgraded, compare it to other stocks values in the sector (ML as compared to MSDW, as we all know, every company should be priced in the same value range)

2) If a stock is going to be upgraded, compare it to other COMPANIES performance in the sector (AMD vs INTC, as we know, not all companies are the same value so they shouldn't be priced in the same value range)

3) If a stock is going to be upgraded, upgrade in the middle of the stock's nosedive (MU or G,)

4) If a stock is going to be upgraded based on nothing, put a really really high price target on it and provide no explanation (AOL or YHOO)

5) Upgrade stocks when your company has a position in those stocks.

6) Finally, downgrade only after your company has relieved its position in said stock. (prepare to use #3 at any time)

Did I leave anything out?
