George. One more thought. You mentioned that you find the notion of a metal prototyper somewhat regressive. While conducting my research, critics of Stratasys often labeled their plastic extruding machines as a "false economy". They said potential customers would be purchasing and using technology that moved them backwards in part accuracy for less price. This statement led me to watch Stratasys' sales very closely and to look out for saturation. If there is truly a false economy, then the sale of their machines could turn out to be a fad! Or has Scott Crump simply created a new niche? Time will tell. I always search out and try to listen to the critics of even a success story like Stratasys. However, they have been difficult to find among all the hype. That is why I mildly antagonized Brian over at the 3D Systems thread. <G> I haven't found many people willing to toss eggs at Stratasys.
