There are, by most accountings, 1.8 million Kosovar Albanians. The 3 million figure includes the Croats, Bosnian Muslims, and about 200,000 ethnic Serbs that moved out of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina rather than live there.
The 100,000 death toll was harder to arrive at. Given the Muslim, Croat, and Kosovar claims of almost 250,000 and Serbian leadership's claim of 0, I decided on a conservative compromise.
