clinton made this big deal about our huge productivity gains with our wonderful ripoff software and ridiculously expensive infrastructure improvements while in fact we are put out of business with a billion chinese producers that use manual labor. There are so many workers available that it is faster, easier and cheaper to use manual labor than to automate many processes. The whole US economy is based on consumption and waste, while china's is based on production. IMHO the only economy we ever had was derived from the military-industrial complex, a war got us out of every past recession. All the "technology" propping up the stock market since 1990....ALL of it....was developed in reagan cold war days....though I know of some interesting pockets of techie stuff not yet exploited, it seems to me that Clinton is badgering wars to provide an excuse for defense expenditures to prop up a faltering economy.
