Blavatsky? No thanks, a little too self focused on her own mysticism and how really cool that should make her in the eyes of us, her potential disciples. Uses too many trendy new world phrases for me to take seriously. Hesse on the other hand is an old favorite, but I seem to have lost the knack for achieving a kundalini sense of awareness that his writings used to generate in me as a young man. I still make a point to bring out his Das Glasperlenspiel (Magister Ludi) in the original German, every five years or so and purging the static from my brain and "inner conciousness". Two or three times, I've been on the verge of actually grasping the "game". Maybe one day I will. I guess that's what enlightenment is all about.
