Uncle Frank: While I seem to be in the unenviable position of going up a steep hill, I would suggest that both NT and LU are much much broader in their scope than Cisco. Even assuming that Cisco is a gorilla in its space - which I do assume. Cisco is not about to supply wireless infrastructure in China. NT and LU already do (GSM) and may well add CDMA as well. Not to mention the 3rd generation wireless where NT and LU will be major participants. Also in my view anything LU can do, NT can do also and in several overlapping areas NT is superior. There is clearly a problem with any company with the scope of LU or NT when it comes to the Gorilla Game approach. So perhaps they are just fish out of water here. But I would submit that if NT is out of water, then so is LU. As I suggested earlier Lu does not have enough of the market for King status IMO but both LU and NT are princes in multiple telecom equip supply fields. But as a new (non)kid on the block, I will follow your ruling.

BTW Sun Microsystems is also a problem gorilla candidate because it does so much (so well) combining hardware, software, and two major disruptive technologies Java and Jini. Is SunW persona non grata here also? Chaz too
