Gordon,

I was going to post a long diatribe about why everything he's describing is technically infeasible, about the fact that the standard he cited doesn't exist, about the reality that most corporate computers don't come with microphones, and that most home users don't connect them when they do.

Then I noticed the date on the column.

It's an April fools joke. Read some of the feedback to it, and check out the "snoopfix" program they claim to be distributing to deal with it...
