You know one of the greatest benefits of digitalme is that you can track your information (when someone passes along your info, you'd know where it came from).

I wonder in that same sense, will digitalme allow me to know who is asking for information about me? Would it "tip" me off to search by a credit reporting company or my employeer or other agencies?

Now that would be something now wouldn't it? It would surely limit abuses in most cases.

I think the web has opened our eyes to how we are monitored in our society and has finally made us confront things we never see. I mean let's face it, we're tracked in more ways everyday that we care to think about. My phone bill itemizes each call, my pager too...My EZ-pass (electronic toll payer), credit card, phone card (if anyone can think of any other ways, let me know. I'm compiling a list!)

But every time I think about this I get worried. The more we ask for anonymity, the more loopholes we leave for people to do "bad" things and get away with it. Where's the balance? I don't know, I only hope I can recognize it whenever it presents itself...
