How do you expect our install guys to get anything done with people like you taking up all of their time asking snoopy questions .....hmmmm?

This guy was the talker -- I was just the interested bystander, egging him on <g>. He was very knowledgeable, and I think I was the captive listener with a much better networking vocabulary than he was used to, so he went on a roll. Apparently there is a neighborhood called Dakota Ridge in the area which has voice-IP telephone service (along with the more common digital cable and cable Internet). So he went headlong into that, talking about 1300nm/1550nm WDM fiber service, Lucent this, Cisco that , etc. If we could only sit him down for a few hours a week over a beer, we could probably learn more than a little about what's selling and where the profits will be in five and ten years.
