Chaz too:
No pain to me, and while I graciously accept the more senior position here, don't overweigh my meager contributions to the thread, which are more in the form of dummy (read: eager to learn) questions than substance on which to form decisions.
My largest problem, at the moment, is that I'm moving from Florida to South Carolina in the near future, and that has occupied much of my attention. The stock stuff has been allowed to slide while I close up an estate. Once resettled, I'll dig in like the rest of you.
The other, lingering, problem is that at heart, I'm a fundamentalist. It's nice to see profits, PE's matching growth rates, growing markets and shares, consistent R&D, cash growth, and increasing top lines. Thirty years ago, I was delighted with Caterpillar. Doesn't work today....well, it does, but harking back to your "opportunity cost" notion, it doesn't. This old dog is still learning the new tricks.
I'm also having trouble some days adjusting to extreme volatility, and I've left some money on the table, a little too often in fact. At least, knock on wood, I haven't given any of my stash to some other guy. |
