Doesn't this affect our potential pleasure in the IRC world?

We are underinformed, underpowered, and hopelessly 16 bit. Yet we remain ignorant of our relative
poverty and reasonably happy. We are chatting away, near daily. (as long as we get thru, of course).

We do find some frustrations. Yet we persist with AOL. Steve tells us it will get better. We believe him.
I hear they are adding some modems. Some fast ones. x2.

I have no doubt that AOL will keep the Crawford family, and maybe even 7,999,990 people like them. But how will they attract new people to the Ponzi scheme, who are not aware (or too aware) of the delights offered by AOL? AOL cannot make money with 8 million members.
