The "aura" of being a BB Utah stock and having an investor relations office run out of Vancouver ...

I received some feedback regarding my concerns regarding the Utah/BB nature of ECIC and its Vancouver IR office and the "percieved" reputation of both those entities. I would like to address those concerns.

One, I did not say that this company or its IR was a sham, I suggested that the mere fact of this company's BB status, its location and IR office could send up a "red flag" for a potential investor.

Every single person I have approached about this stock has expressed the same concerns that I brought up in my message of last night. I did not make up the stock market reality that unfortunately places a blanket of suspicion around any Utah BB stock. I believe that Eagle has a significant burden and obligation to overcome this "reputation". In my opinion though the stream of announcements and the 18 month insider lock-up period certainly have done a lot to quell some of those unwanted attributes.

I have received very solid information from both the IR office in Vancouver and the management in Utah, and I'm looking forward to sharing everything I come up with this thread. But I also have some concerns that I feel need to be addressed internally by the company. As investors, we have the right to have our "red flags" explained and our concerns dealt with.

I feel that the honest, direct and frank exchange of ideas and information here on SI can do a great deal in attracting real investor interest. To that end, I am very interested in receiving the company's guidance for their first quarter reporting. I have read the press release indicating that we could expect $.80 for FY99. My guess is that total is probably meant to be cumulative over the year and the company will not necessarily show a profit in the first quarter. I, for one, don't want unfulfilled expectations of first quarter profits to drive this stock back down if profitability isn't achieved when this company first reports. Since there aren't any analysts following this company (are there?), I'm looking forward to getting guidance from management regarding realistic expectations for first quarter earnings.
