yeah Amgen probably is the biggest biotech,
but I would not buy it right now. For instance,
Amgen has a real profitable drug--Epogen,
and yet, in a few years it will be possible
for genetic therapy to induce EPO production
right in the body (it can already be done,
but clinical trials will take awhile).
A fellow in a post to me once said 'why inject
protiens when you can just induce gene therapy,
and secrete'...or something like that. Freaky
stuff, but is is happening--like I said,
things change, and nothing will change faster
than biotechnology.
The question for me is whether or not I am clever
enough to follow it all and make the right choices.
Might as well try, could be fun--not a good bet,
but I'm sure not going to "invest" in MSFT instead.
