Or stress fracture your jaw for no cussing!

HaHa, too funny!!

I had my jaw broken 6 years ago when someone broke into my home. I've had 4 operations since then and have to go in every 6 months for x-rays, mobility tests, etc. to make sure everything is still in place and working correctly. I sometimes have to wear a splint and it too needs tweeking from time to time.

On the left side, there isn't anything left but muscle and a tendin. The disc that allows movement between the two bones that make up your jaw joint was destroyed, so now it's just bone on bone. I had an implant, a steel plate with 5 screws removed last year because it failed. Soon, I'll have to have part of the bone replaced with an artifical device because of the wear and deterioration. There's no scares except for in my hairline and I don't look deformed or freaky (except when I've got curlers in my hair).

So for now, I do what I please with a moderate amount of discomfort. There're somethings that I'm not suppose to do but come on, life's too short and besides some of that stuff is fun!!!
