I have found Murphy gets too caught up with the fundamentals and falls in love with stocks or short sales. If he coupled his fundamental picks with technical analysis he would do much better - sell when a stock breaks through support for example. He has been crushed on his small cap buys in his fund, but since they are cheap and in good shape he holds on - probably will do well in the long term.

I think he is one of the best for his insight into technology companies.
