PCOR to Supply Content for INKT Shopping Search; ZDnet

ZDnet is reporting that PCorder.com PCOR is expected to unveil a service called ContentSource next Monday, which will provide real-time access to more than 1,000 vendors' product and pricing information, such as side-by-side product specs, full-color images, and online rebates and promotions, according to PcOrder.com president Christina Jones.
"We want to be the engine behind every Internet commerce transaction in the [computer] industry," Jones said.
PCOR has already inked deals with Inktomi, a developer of search engine solutions, and Internet reseller Egghead.com., to incorporate the new services, and content is expected to be available to more than 15 portal sites, including Infoseek and Snap.com, NBC's Internet portal site, in the second quarter of this year according to the report.
"By integrating ContentSource, Web portals running Inktomi's Shopping Engine will give online consumers accurate and valuable product content, so they can confidently buy computer products online, said David Peterschmidt, chief executive of Inktomi. "
