The company (one of the biggest 10 in USA) I consult for uses CA Unicenter for the systems management stuff spouted for connect:remote etc. All that stuff about asset management, software distribution, etc. I can't imagine why SE thinks they have a chance in this space against the real systems management players like CA, IBM, and even Novelle with their directory based approach.

I was very positive on SE until I saw the CEO on CNBC after stock plummeted. I was absolutely amazed by his response to questions. It was only then that I looked past the installed base of EDI and noticed this other boondoggle acquisition.

I no longer own the stock. I am glad you know what their business plan is. I for one would love to know why they don't have a full XML suite of products and why in the name they paid even 1/2 what they did for the EXCEL.. acquisition. I would also love to know whether they are going to get hit the way NETA just did by SEC.

When I bought the stock I thought their business plan was to dominate B2B. I thought they would purely focus on that area. Who cares about the other stuff.

I would also add that I think they need some people on Board of Directors that are completely independent of the Sterling insider world.

Good luck.
