Look at this table: Stock EPS DIV REV($M) NET ($M) MKT CAP P/E GM $4.18 $2.00 161,000 2,956 57B 21.02 AOL $0.22 - 3,161 252 153B 730. YHOO $0.16 - 257 76 42B 1292. Can anyone tell me: Why AOL should be awarded a market capitalization 2.7 times that of GM on earnings of 22 cents a share, and YHOO is closing in at .74 of GM's market cap with only $0.16 earnings? Why YHOO is a buy at a P/E of 1,292, and GM just has a P/E of 21 with a $2.00 dividend?
