Hey you guys wanna hear one on the other side of the coin?

Ok, the first guy where I work to open up an on-line trading account did so about three years ago. He decided to put 75% of his money into a certain stock and placed the order. Being a newbie, he screwed up and ordered the stock twice, putting him at the limit of a margin call. Took him 2 weeks to realize his mistake.

His punishment? He had bought DELL at the equivalent of 2$ a share and is now talking about early retirement. Refuses to sell it because he doesn't want to take the capital gain hit.

The other lesson to be learned is that when you're a newby, you depend on luck and being a better trader is all about maximizing the odds.
