Hi Jim, I've read AES's annual report and I'm very high on the company long term - while I don't currently own the stock, I think that its neglect can be linked to fears of difficulty in collecting payment from some of the 3rd world countries that it deals with. The company has acknowledged certain instances of difficulty involving billings. Also, there is political risk in these unstable countries.

On the other hand, AES is truly doing the world a great service - and it is not getting fat in the process - that'll take a long time. The company is quite accomodating to economically troubled countries.
They are the only company involved on a significant level in this mission to power the world.

Lastly, I was quite moved with the warm, articulate and impressive letter to shareholders by AESs Chief. The letter had a very gentle and compassionate tone to it, not seen in annual reports, and he
seemed as though he were describing a long quest that AES is on which one day will lead to triumph.
