Thanks for the response Evan. It is frustrating to not have these new Apple software products out there. On the other hand, Apple can't afford a mis-step. In that light Apple is following a prudent policy. The downside is that there is always a perception, especially lately that the industry is approaching a significant inflection point. For instance, the significant support for Project Monterey from IBM and others to create a improved unix port to IA-64. One always wonders if Apple had been a year or two ahead so that OS X had been out and well received before now, if OS X might not be a player. Likewise with Sony. Now we have rumors of Sun porting Solaris not only to IA-64 but perhaps to X86. etc. etc.

What if QT had had streaming available last year? The landscape might be completely different. As it is, I'm afraid I'd have to predict that QT 4.0 release will be lost in the tech news noise and not have a great deal of impact in terms of stock price although it may certainly have a technical impact.
