ATI is the only large graphics chip maker with an integrated solution that is well underway and is ahead of schedule. They acquired Chromatics last year. The others are only now starting to think about it (ie S3) and others have not even given it any thought (ie nVidia, 3Dfx). The only company that is ahead of the game and has huge potential IMO is SiS. The others are far behind ATI in this particular area. Everybody was crying when ATI bought Chromatics, but it's now clear that they had indeed bought their golden goose to protect themselves for the future. Again, kudos to ATI management for their incredible foresight.

Yes, the Compaq news is very bad IMO. Everyone was expecting some weakening, but their numbers were particularly bad (0.15 vs 0.31). This will negatively affect ATY (and all other PC related techs) on Monday I believe.
