Hi Bill: While all of the on-line brokerages have their own quirks, ETrade strikes a nice balance between services, speed, reliability and cost. At times I want to strangle them, but at 13.99 to 19.99 per trade Etrade usually beats a broker - especially for day-traders or quasi-day-traders. The one caveat is that you retain your broker as a back-up for extremely time-sensitive buys, or IPOs etc. ETrade offers live brokers via phone, too - but you could miss the millennium celebration while they have you on hold.
