Ish, Steve was asking whether the US government has the RIGHT to kill you, if it pleases.

Waco and Ruby Ridge are not examples of the government's exercise of such a presumed or delegated right. Nor are cases where the wrong house is raided. They are examples of -- what? -- bumbling incompetence, over-zealousness, whatever. As for Kent State, I would not identify rattled national guardsmen with "the US government."

On the killing of native Americans you are on sounder ground. Here, quite clearly, the non-native Americans quite clearly felt their government had the "right" -- even the duty -- to get rid of the Indians. In fact, they often anticipated the government by doing it themselves. Read what happened to the Indians of California...ugh!..
