John, Re<<Decent products, egregiously poor execution.>>

They had to execute something to get a decent product, isn't that correct?

AMD has major problems but the fact of the matter is that they are gaining market share, increasing revenues and climbing up the food chain toward the more profitable high end market. These are facts not opinions.

My work recently started to buy AMD based systems, most my friends are buying AMD systems for their houses, AMD is a legitimate competitor to Intel. Name another company who can say that.

CPU market is extremely lucrative, just look at Intel's ridiculously high profit margins. Why do you think that no one has had any big success penetrating it other than AMD. AMD is a second best company among all the CPU maker (as funny as it sounds, it is the truth). Being second best in a large lucrative market is nothing to be ashamed of. Every one talks about how AMD is repeating historical pattern and we should know what to expect this time, BULL SH*T!!!! AMD is producing it own processors (not a clone) and is getting market share from Intel. It has about a 50% market share in retail and it started to penetrate the business market. Tell me when was the last time that was true? How is this duplicating past history?

AMD financial is a mess and it has to get better if AMD is going to survive. There is a fine line between losing and winning in this market and AMD is currently on the wrong side. My money is betting that it will get to the other side.
