Texas State Record for Hybrids is 19.66 in '84. Some would argue that it was actually a pure Striper as the Stocking program wasn't old enough to have produced a fish that big in that particular lake (Lake Ray Hubbard). Most of the studies seem to show that their growth rate levels off pretty quickly, a 1 yr old can weigh over 3lbs. and peaks around ten in about 5 years or so, it's a surprise to see one over 15 but they happen. I think that part of the problem is they are harvested pretty quickly, there's an 18 inch minimum but they run with the natural Whites when they are small and I think a lot of them get kept by mistake. I've seen schools boil up for acres and boats everywhere taking their limits.
