But from a manufacturing point of view, the past year has been a disaster for AMD.

I keep hearing this, but it makes little sense to me. In March they shipped over 2,000,000 parts rated at an average clock speed almost 50% greater than their yield from last summer.

By any standards this is an outstanding manufacturing accomplishment. AMD is under a microscope and it causes the viewers to lose their objectivity.
