OT -- A Frustrated CPQ investor admits its time to move on...FYI...

<<This warning, coming after the end of the quarter, and on-top of a over a year of misguidance and confusion in strategy, is the straw (2x4) that broke this camel's back. Though Monday will be painful, I will look for another company to invest in. Management has squandered the opportunity to become the undisputed leader in the computer arena and crush the Dell movement earlier. I hope that the Board takes a serious look at the results of the past year and makes the decision to bring in new management.

While having approximately $300M in CPQ stock and options might appear sufficient to motivate EP to get the company stock up, it really just shows how desensitizing wealth is when you get to that type of meaningless level. Get a younger executive with some vision (Hint: $50B in revenue is NOT a vision!) and hunger to succeed. The Street is not going to reward the company even if it does make its Year 2000 revenue target because in winning that one battle, CPQ may have already lost the war.

Adios and good luck.>>
