I believe DELL and CPQ have already announced they will start building computers equipped with cable modems.

Lyle- That would also give the box makers a little boost. Right now they could use that. I doubt people would upgrade just for the cable modem though.

I am currently considering buying another Dell. If @Home were ready to install me, I would certainly consider a new purchase if a built-in cable modem were an option. BTW, when service is installed, does @Home rent the modem, does the subscriber buy it outright, or is it offered free of charge? I am sorry to show my ignorance here. I just don't remember it being discussed, or I ignored it at the time.

Will @Home see some run-up this next week in anticipation of a good first quarter report? Anyone know what brought on the nice rise today? Comments (fact or opinion) would be appreciated as I haven't watched things closely today.

My father called me today to see if I sold my ATHM yet. I can tell he thinks I'm a little foolish for not taking profit. He won't say it, but I know that's what he's thinking. I told him ATHM still has some growing to do. He gave me a sly chuckle, but agreed. He owns shares too at a cost basis of $125. He hasn't sold either.

My uncle, another ATHM investor, told me a story the other day. He said, "Imagine that ATHM is a train taking you on a travel. You have reached your destination and decide to get off. The engineer gladly stops the train for you. The conductor escorts you to the nearest exit. You step off with your luggage, and notice few others are joining you. The train continues heading north. You stand there and marvel its strength as it gathers up steam and disappears over the horizon. When it's gone, you look around you. The landscape isn't so bad because the train did bring you to an attractive location. The distance between you and the train widens with each passing moment. You think that maybe this place isn't so bad, but you wonder what it might have been like over the horizon."

My uncle is still on that train, and so am I. Are you?
