Colin,

Are you saying that the motherboard has 8 megs soldered to it? That sounds odd. Just to reiterate, having more than 64 MB of RAM with Pentium and Pentium MMX processors could cause system instability. Anyway, I have had slight instability problems using a dynamically sized swap file under NT so I just loaded up on memory hungry programs to see how much was being used, then doubled that size to arrive at my permanent swap file.

If you are using Win 98, well, there's been some confusion as to whether it is an operating system or a virus.

Regards,

Paul Kaz
