NW and thread -

Compaq is a great company no question about it. I very much like their notebooks and their PCs but I must say that I have always found them a little pricey and to the point that the extra cost doesn't isn't comensated for by the good and quality name of Compaq.

I think that may be because I feel sure that whatever notebook or PC that I buy I know I will get a newer model within 2 years ( and chuck out the old one). Its just the way the technology is evolving. Furthermore I don't think I'm alone in this attitude.

I would have thought that the CPQ management would have would have adapted to this kind of environment and I'm sure they will now. If CPQ were to become the cheapest in the market then they would wipe everyone else out because the Compaq name would then have the effect. Less profit yes but less competition as many would just not be able to compete.

Still apparently Ashok Kumar has had something positive to say and I'd like to find it?

Regards,

L
