buying nxtl."

Nicholas, instead of QWST or GBLX buying Nextel how about a merger with McCaw's Nextlink? Nextlink is building a local national network and has long haul fiber capacity through a deal with Level 3. With McCaw calling the shots with both Nextel and Nextlink, a merger at some point makes sense.

Nextel is building brand name recognition with their national ad campaign. They have a national sales force already in place calling on business users. Why not utilize this sales force to offer bundled services including local and long distance landline services? The synergy is there.

It would take a massive national marketing effort to develop Nextlink into a brand name. IMO, it won't happen. The services Nextlink offers can be sold with the Nextel name. The same name we have been hearing on radio and watching on TV for about 2 years now.

We don't need MCI/WOrldcom.

Regards,

Ron
