MKC: microcaps have been in a bear market for years...friedmans is a really good example...here's a real business with several hundred stores in the South, where business is booming...real inventory and real book value.with jewelry, gold and silver, precious gems and watches..but the stock has gone nowhere for so long that people started dumping it to buy internets..and as it went down an epidemic of people selling smallcap funds forced managers to dump the stock at any price. So your 30% down in the fund is representative of this stock going from book value to 0.7 book value. On the other side of the planet, an ethnic Albanian saves the life of his family by paying off an armed serb with his wife's gold jewelry.
