I say absolutely he would have been more caring and responsible if he had not posted that post. He states that the rumor came from a friend. A friend he TRUSTS, so it's fair to assume he knows this person well. In my book a CARING and RESPONSIBLE person would have got the name and # of the broker who reportedly has this privy information from their very good friend whom they know well enough to trust, and called and talked to this broker first hand to see if there was any basis for the rumor and if the broker would be willing to go record as to it's source. A responsible person would have checked the wires to see if any legitimate news source had heard any of this yet before posting it on an SI message board. A responsible and caring person would have stopped to think for a minute " Hey, It's Friday and 2 hours before the closing bell, All the traders at DAYTRADING houses MUST sell out their positions before the close.And a lot of at home daytraders will not hold over the weekend. Am I being used to perpetuate a rumor to increase the Friday afternoon selling pressure so the market makers can walk the price?" I would have asked myself DO I want to be responsible for people selling their shares if this rumor turns out to be false?. This is what I would have asked myself before I would post such a rumor and I consider myself a responsible and caring person. Just some of my thinking, I have my own opinions about yesterday and you have yours. MarkC.
