Writing about software for a living is not the same thing as writing it for a living.

Interesting point - should we give more weight to those who write software code for a living. Does anyone know if there has been a poll taken by IT professionals about their predictions for next January.

For example, if IT professionals were asked to respond anonomously to the following question: On a scale on 1-10:

What do you think will be the affect of Y2K problems next January 1, where 10 is "the hydro will be off resulting in problems with food distribution, transportation, and many business will fail because of computer application failure", to 0 where there will be absolutely NO problems due to Y2K.

What do you think the average rank would be IT people, and what do you think would be the average for non-IT people?
