Dell's earnings estimates were lowered last quarter (by virtue of them not exceeding them). There should be no problem meeting and probably exceeding them this quarter. If the PC stocks take a hit next week I feel confident that Dell will have recovered by the time it is ready to report earnings (1 month). Compaq? I'm not sure, they could just stagnate until there is a definite reason for the stock to rise.
