What did coby say that you thought was wrong? You told me I didn't have to read every word of the thread and I could still stop by and play once in awhile. Coby is a good egg, btw.
As far as Monday, hmmm. The mythsters, by and large, are a superstitious lot, so they would jump me if I said one thing or another, probably dooming their puts. I'm not so superstitious myself, but one has to play the role. I do hesitate to pretend I have a crystal ball, however, and would always so disclaim before opining. I expect the damage to spread. Critical mass in the pc sector should have been crossed by this one, especially so late in the game. The company specific spin just doesn't get in the pc market when one counts all the companies preannouncing: cpq twice, amd three times, komag, read-rite, ingram micro, inacom, psft, etc. etc. We're playing out the Monty Python skit "This parrot is dead...No it's not, it's just sleeping..." Denial.
Whether you should get your hopes up...unlike certain mythsters, I don't believe one's hopes impact the market like the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle would like us to believe. The market is too large and we are too small to impact it significantly with our individual feelings. Which then leads back to Rambi herself...should she go on a Wall Street emotional roller coaster...I prefer not to...I prefer to be more dispassionate about the game...just observe. If we win next week, we harvest some....If we lose, we plant some more. And talk with fine new friends on si. :-) |
