Two TeleHub bios not available on their website:
John A. Strand III, President TeleHub Technologies Corp. and member of the TeraBridge board.
John Strand III joined TeleHub Technologies Corp (TTC), a subsidiary of TeleHub Communications Corp, as president in July 1998. Prior to joining TTC, Strand was president of his own technology and business consulting firm, Strategic Planning, with clients such as Sprint and the U.S. Army.
Strand was the director of U.S. Sprint's Technology Planning and Integration division between 1991 and 1997, where he directed the development of strategic concepts, technologies and architectures to support U.S. Sprint's worldwide requirements for end-to-end services. Strand also served as program director for the Sprint Integrated Service Management and Broadband/Multimedia Services programs. In these last positions, he directed the Broadband Program from concept to the first public offering of ATM long distance service industry wide.
Strand also led the technology development of the first fully integrated, distributed and object-based service management system for the Department of Defense and Sprint. Prior to joining Sprint, he was with the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) International at the Center for Technology Transfer and Integration. Strand joined SRI International after a long career with the U.S. Army where he founded and directed the Army's Battle Laboratory, a rapid prototyping laboratory for application of advanced communications, information, networking systems and technology.
He has an extensive background in command, control and communications operations, telecommunications and information systems development, advanced technology applications, rapid prototyping and simulation. Strand also directed research and development in artificial intelligence, object-oriented design, open-systems standards, multimedia, LAN, MAN, and WAN systems integration. Michael McLaughlin, Chief Technology Officer, TeleHub Communications Corp, and new Senior Vice President, Advanced Networks, TeraBridge.
Michael G. McLaughlin, the co-founder of TeleHub Communications Corporation (TCC), currently serves as chief technology officer reporting directly to Don Sledge, president and CEO. McLaughlin is responsible for the overall development of TCC's services and technology designs and operations, including the creation of VASP.
From 1994-1995, McLaughlin served as founder, president and director fo Access Point Communications Corp, a telecommunications consulting service.
In 1991, he formed The McLaughlin Group, Inc. (TMGI), which provides consulting services such as cost reduction and analysis, network configuration strategies and negotiation of communication carrier contracts, to large corporate clients. In this capacity, McLaughlin was involved in the design and implementation of large communications networks for companies.
As a communications engineer at the ROLM/IBM Corporation from 1983 to 1991, he designed, developed and implemented the communications networks for Sears, General Electric Company, Baxter Laboratories and IBM. After IBM Corporation acquired ROLM, he participated in the development of the corporation's national account network strategies. McLaughlin was a key player in the federal deployment of ISDN and OSI standards and the specification for mediated access for the ATIS liaison committee.
McLaughlin co-deployed the first digital phone mail system with the ROLM Corporation before its merger with IBM and co-developed IBM's CallPath. For Sears, he deployed the first N.E.T. integrated multiplexer network. He also worked with MCI on the first Virtual Private Data Network (V-net) service to include integration with the data access points, the computers that hold the number translation and call routing information for 800 and V-net services.
He recently received the 1998 InfoVision Award for Outstanding Achievement in Intelligent Networks. While at ROLM/IBM, he received the Technology Achievement Club award for his work with its largest integrated voice and data network. >>>>
I've been told the TeleHub announcement will be followed by others specifically related to IP acquisitions. I don't know the timing, but if I read between the lines, I'd guess fairly soon.
How about a couple "trivial pursuit" questions?
How long has NN been working on IP and how many engineers are currently involved?
Based on what I hear at conferences, most don't have any idea. While a gorilla's mastered the limerick, a quiet Canadian has perfected the sonnet. Fortunately carriers understand the difference.
