CNN artfully forgot to mention that he stated that his reason for not flying was because he would be in his office closely monitoring his airlines operations.
It is this type of irresponsible reporting that creates cynicism and unsubstantiated anxiety in the public.
You missed something here, Ron. That CEO killed two snails with one stone: it will be safe being on the ground rather than in the air on Jan 1, plus he can now show the shareholders what a good 'ole dedicated loyal corp guy he is! Look past the verbal hype and look for motivations, instead of taking all these statements at face value.
Want to bet Garvey and her ilk who represent they will be flying then, will NOT be? Bet you anything they are aware that all passenger aircraft will be grounded, either due to pilots' refusal to fly and/or due to insurance, union, non-compliant airports, screens, or other such reasons, so they are quite safe in these hype games! But, they expect the guillible masses to buy their games, which most are.
And, even if the unexpected occurs--- that the airplanes do fly, they can still say they were sick, needed at ground zero, or any other convenient pretexes/lies. And furthermore, with a lot of bad news that will be coming out at that time, don't think there will be many who will give a damn about something as relatively miniscule in importance as whether Garvey or the others were on a plane or not!!!
The best tactic, of course, is the Chinese policy of ORDERING these execs to be ON THE PLANES on Jan 1! |
