The consumer makes out in this case.
Lower prices.It started a few years ago with Micron, the price of memory fell so fast. Then it was the disk drive companies etc. Now the box makers will get toasted. There will not be the high growth in DELL as we have seen it before. People use their computers to connect to the internet more and more. My computer is used to connect to the internet the majority of the time. What is hot now is high speed access to the internet. It doesn't matter how fast your Intel chip is but how fast your connection is. AOL still has many moons of high growth in front but like everything else there will be a topping out. The box makers will become cyclicals rather than growth companies.
