vor: For everyone of those stories, there are three the other way. Once sitting at home minding my own business, I got an unsolicited call from my ML broker. He tells me that their analyst just told them on a CC to buy AMD that day, because earnings would be a big upside surprise the next day. AMD tanked 25% the next day. That, and a few more like that, is one of the reasons I went to Schwab.
