predicting is indeed embarrassing. i try as best i can to stay away from that hazard.

i stay away from the judgment of what others have done in the marketplace too. my task is to do the best i can. none of us can control things as vast as markets, economies, world politics, etc. yet all surely impact us deeply.

i'm probably repeating myself...but i really feel that investing should be about where the individual is. what needs the individual/family has. much more focused on the investor and circumstance than on the market. are we taking risks that are appropriate to our circumstance. these are things that one can do one's best to make the right things happen. proper asset allocation, proper leverage. how many people are paying 18 or 24% on credit card balances that they don't pay down while they "invest" in the stock market. that kind of thing is insanity. to expect market returns to exceed a riskless return of 24% is beyond the pale.

others get to points where they have what they need, but risk that security because they love the game.

so in answering coby, i have always tried to say i'm talking about me when i don't want any internuts. that's just not where i am.
