Michael, the Barrons piece cites NSMs niche as analog-mixed signal and web appliance chips. Reading this thread I detect concern that NSM is completely non competitive in cpu and inferred from that that the cyrix acquisition is an albatross. Posters on this thread are extremely knowledgeable but far above my understanding of the technology discussions. I have shares in lsi(happy) and nsm(sad) and would appreciate any comments on the big picture relative to comparative strengths of lsi, vlsi and nsm. In particular I was surprised to see while nsm seems stronger on relative ratios of p/sales and price/book their ratio of sales/employee is completely non competitive. With 154K per employee nsm is far less producive than its high tech competitors at about 240K. My very basic question to the board is, does nsm have ability to remain viable against its competitors without a major restructuring of its product line(eliminate cpu) and employment levels?
